Switchboard Installations

Tickle Park Main Switchboard

Scope of Works

Bailey & Dalton Electrical completed a main switchboard upgrade at Tickle Park on the Sunshine Coast, replacing an ageing 3 compartment switchboard with a custom 5 compartment 3 phase main switchboard built for safer long-term public-site use.

The works included removal of the existing board, vacuum excavation of the collapsed pit, demolition of the original concrete plinth, installation of a new larger pit, construction of a new plinth, and installation of the new switchboard. The final layout provided dedicated zones for irrigation control, event power, 3 phase distribution, metering and a central cable zone.

The result was a stronger electrical distribution system with better access, compartment segregation and ongoing serviceability, helping the site support safer maintenance and more reliable day-to-day operation.

Our Role and Approach

Key Challenges & Solutions
  • Managing both electrical replacement works and civil interface works at the same time.
  • Vacuum excavation and pit replacement were required before the new switchboard could be installed safely.
  • The new board layout was designed to improve segregation, access control and long-term serviceability.
Safety & Sustainability
  • The replacement improved compartment separation and reduced unauthorised access to different site functions.
  • The upgraded switchboard provides a stronger long-term base for safer maintenance and reliable public-site operation.
Project Outcomes
  • Replacement of failing infrastructure with a custom 5 compartment 3 phase main switchboard.
  • Improved electrical safety, compartment segregation and distribution capability for an active public site.
  • Better support for irrigation control, event power, metering and ongoing maintenance access.
  • A stronger long-term switchboard solution aligned with commercial electrical maintenance and compliance needs on the Sunshine Coast.

Tickle Park Main Switchboard

Our Role and Approach

Bailey & Dalton Electrical was engaged to replace infrastructure that was no longer suited to the site’s operational needs. The original switchboard was in poor condition, access and safety needed improvement, and the existing setup no longer supported the way the public space was being used.

Our approach focused on delivering a safer, more practical electrical distribution system with better compartment segregation, stronger site control and improved maintenance access for ongoing public use.
